Primary Objective:

  • Manage the financial aspects of construction projects, ensure completed within the allocated budget
  • Equipped with professionalism, to provide support to the project team, maintaining commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and ensure that the Company’s objectives are achieved. Liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues including agreement of variations, claims and any additional payments.


Key Activities:

  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting : Analyse project plans and specifications to estimate the costs involved in construction activities
  • Cost Control and Monitoring : Monitor project costs to ensure align with the budget, track expenses , review invoices, and manage payment processes
  • Contract Administration : Administer contracts between client, contractors, and subcontractors, ensure comply with the terms and conditions of the contract, including payment schedules, variations, and claims
  • Valuations and Final Accounts : Assess the progress work, prepare interim valuations, determine the value of work completed, ensure accurate payments are made to contractors. Preparing final accounts which include all financial transactions related to the project
  • Tendering and Procurement : Prepare tender documents, evaluation the costs proposals, negotiate contracts, make recommendations, sourcing and procuring materials and services
  • Quantity Take-off and Measurement : Perform detailed quantity take off, measurement
  • Value Engineering : Collaborate with design, construction team to optimize project costs, propose alternative materials, construction methods, design modifications that offer cost savings

  • Work closely with project managers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of construction projects.


Key Activities:

  • Project Planning and Design
    • Assist in the development and review of project plans, specifications, and drawings.
    • Collaborate with architects and design professionals to ensure the feasibility and constructability of project designs.
    • Conduct site evaluations and assessments to identify any potential challenges or constraints.

  • Estimating and Cost Control
    • Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.
    • Monitor project expenses and track costs throughout the construction process.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering solutions.

  • Procurement and Materials Management
    • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and procure construction materials and equipment.
    • Ensure timely delivery of materials to the construction site.
    • Coordinate material testing and quality assurance activities.

  • Construction Supervision and Coordination
    • Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
    • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and construction crews.
    • Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to monitor progress and identify any issues.

  • Construction Documentation
    • Prepare and maintain construction documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and change orders.
    • Review and approve contractor submittals, such as shop drawings and material samples.
    • Maintain accurate records of project activities, correspondence, and any project-related documentation.

  • Quality Control and Assurance
    • Implement quality control processes to ensure that construction work meets quality standards and specifications.
    • Conduct inspections and tests to verify the quality of workmanship and materials.

  • Safety and Risk Management
    • Identify potential safety hazards and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
    • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on the construction site.
    • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Technical Problem-Solving
    • Analyze technical challenges and provide innovative solutions.
    • Collaborate with project team members to resolve technical issues and conflicts.
    • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving construction-related problems.

  • Progress Reporting and Communication
    • Provide regular updates on project progress to stakeholders, including project managers and clients.
    • Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and suppliers.
    • Address any concerns or issues raised by stakeholders and provide timely solutions.

  • Project Closeout
    • Coordinate the completion of punch lists and final inspections.
    • Ensure proper documentation of project completion, including as-built drawings and operation manuals.
    • Assist in the transition of the project to the client or facility management team.

  • Resource Management

  • Project Scheduling
    Develop and manage project schedules, creating work breakdown structures, setting milestones, and tracking progress. Monitor and address any schedule deviations, implementing corrective measures as required.
  • Contract Management
    Review and administer contracts, including agreements with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and manage change orders effectively.
  • Risk Management
    Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks. Develop risk management strategies, implement preventive measures, and create contingency plans to minimize project disruptions.
  • Quality Assurance
    Establish and enforce quality control standards and procedures. Conduct regular inspections, audits, and tests to ensure adherence to specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Communication
    Maintain effective communication and collaboration with clients, project team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Provide regular project updates, address concerns, and facilitate problem-solving and decision-making processes.
  • Health and Safety
    Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on the construction site. Implement safety protocols, conduct safety inspections, and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Project Documentation
    Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, contracts, and other project-related records. Ensure proper record-keeping for future reference and legal compliance.
  • Team Leadership
    Provide leadership and guidance to the project team, including contractors and subcontractors. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, resolving conflicts and motivating team members to achieve project goals.
  • Project Closeout
    Ensure a smooth project closeout process, including final inspections, completion of punch lists, and handover to clients. Conduct project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
